The qualification that is equivalent to AQF Bachelor Degree or higher with an ICT Minor
If you have completed a course with an ICT Minor closely related to the occupation of ICT Business Analyst, you have to fulfill the following criteria:
- 5-year related work experience that is completed in the last 10 years, or
- 6-year related work experience that is completed anytime in your previous work history
If you have completed a course with an ICT Minor that is not relevant to the occupation of ICT Business Analyst, you need to fulfill the following requirements:
6-year related work experience that is competed anytime in your previous work history
The qualification that is equivalent to AQF Diploma or Vendor Certification
If you have completed a course with an ICT Major that is closely related to the occupation of ICT Business Analyst, fulfill the following requirements for a positive ACS Business Analyst assessment:
5-year related work experience that is completed within the last 10 years; or
6-year related work experience that is completed anytime in your previous work history
If you have completed a course with an ICT Major not closely relevant to the occupation of ICT Business Analyst 261111, you have to fulfill the following requirements:
6-year related work experience that is completed anytime in your previous work history.
ACS gives recognition to prior learning (RPL).
If you have a Non-ICT Qualification that is equivalent to AQF Diploma or higher, you need to meet the following requirements:
- 6-year related work experience that is completed anytime in your previous work history; and
- RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) application
If you don’t’ have a tertiary qualification but have work experience only, you need to fulfill the following needs:
8 years of related work experience, and

Australian qualifications that have not been recognized by ACS will most likely satisfy the ICT Major Criteria. However, it may not necessarily be evaluated as being closely relevant to your nominated occupation. So, you must ensure that you nominate the correct occupation.
ACS will only give value to employment that is completed after the date you have satisfied the ACS Suitability Criteria as Skilled Employment. It means the authority will not take pre-qualification employment experience into account.
